Yay! Possible good news, already. I went for my neupogen shot this a.m. and was able to speak to the on-call oncologist (Dr. Spencer is out this week). He reviewed my lab tests regarding the low calcium/low PTH. He is unworried. The calcium levels are back to normal now, and the earlier low calcium levels were just barely under the "normal" level. I'll really breathe more easily when Dr. Spencer tells me not to worry -- even the on-call oncologist admitted that he and Dr. Spencer have slightly different practice styles. She is extremely diligent, following up on any abnormal finding. He tends to wait and look for a pattern of abnormal readings with the assumption that many of these things work themselves out. Still, for the meantime, I'm taking it as good news.
