We had a good time at Cate's birthday party on Saturday. She celebrated with 20 of her nearest friends (mostly 1st grade girls with a few others thrown in for good measure) at Arctic Gymnastics. Every other year the kids get a "big" birthday party and this was Cate's year. The good thing about Arctic Gymnastics is that all the activity is taken care of -- the kids run and play and jump and have fun. After an hour, they come to the birthday area for cake and presents and goodie bags. I have to admit that even with the activities taken care of, it's still a lot of work to get everything there and set up.

I've got to download pictures from the other camera to add more to this, but will put up some of the photos we got. Goodie bags were Harry Potter theme. Each had:
  • A pen with a feather attached (a quill)
  • A little notebook stating it was "Tom Riddle's Diary"
  • A little box with jelly beans and a label reading "Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans"
  • A little bag full of chocolate "in case of dementor attack"
  • Some chocolate foil coins with a label reading "Galleons and Knuts from your vault at Gringotts."
More photos to come.

All those girls with the birthday girl look pretty sweet but I sure am crazy about those cute VanDoorne kids.
