Saturday, Greg helped lead a cub scout hike. Steve, a friend from church helped since he's an avid mountaineer. He was kind enough to help pick an appropriate trail and check on the trail conditions several times through the week since we've been having unusually late in the season snowstorms recently.

Saturday turned out to be a brisk, but beautiful day and so Greg, Steve, and the scouts headed out to Windy Pass. It's along the highway towards Girdwood -- a trail cut out of the mountain during the building of the railroad at the turn of the century. The boys had a pretty fantastic time. One boy proclaimed it "the best scout activity all year long!" Christopher also had a wonderful time. There was the beautiful inlet to watch, a small avalanche chute to step over and learn about, a cave that houses different animals through the year, and for the boys the most exciting thing -- the half-eaten carcass of a dall sheep who succumbed to a wolf earlier in the week. THAT had the boys terribly interested. A great hike overall.
