Ah, the final days of summer, or at least what summer we've had. It's hard to belive that summer is here and gone -- can't prove it with the weather, or the amazing adventures we've had(too busy working and dealing with my back). Yet, the Anchorage School District claims that as of tomorrow, Summer is officially over and school is back in session.
Here, the kids have a sword/light saber fight with Hunter, a boy from Christopher's class. Hunter is one of the kids who was a second grader last year in Christopher's class, so he'll be moving up to a new teacher. Christopher will really miss those older kids although I suspect he'll quickly find new best friends. And continue to have opportunities to play on the playground with his old best friends.
We're spending the day playing a bit, getting to the PT for me (please, be my back savior!), getting school supplies purchased and organized, and meeting with Christopher's teacher tonight. I'm chief parent coordinator (aka room mother) this year so we'll discuss ways I can help galvanize the troops (families) to help out where it would most benefit the kids.
Tomorrow, it's back to the real world. Early morning wake-ups, carpools, homework.
