I finally have some photos from last week's "Ice Skating in the Dark" extravaganza that Cate's class got to participate in. It's a milestone for Kindergarteners at the kids' school to learn to ice skate at recess at the school ice rink. It's been fun to watch Cate go from needing two parents helping keep her upright to zooming around the rink like a budding Dorothy Hamill. It's a pretty far cry from my recess days -- certainly sledding and ice skating were not options at Ramona Elementary School in Hemet. They also each made a candle holder from ice -- you can see Cate holding hers for a very beautiful, luminous effect.
