Just a few photos to share from MLK Day last week. I used the day off of school to take the kids downtown to walk through the ice sculptures. This is another one of those "only in Alaska" things. I doubt many communities have a public ice sculpture garden in the winter. There had been a slight snowfall the night before, so unfortunately some of the sculptures were a bit covered with a dusting of fresh flakes. Nobody had been out to sweep them off yet. Unfortunately, we had left Cate's ice skates at school over the weekend or we could have used the community ice skating rink that the ice sculptures surround. All in all, a nice outing on a cold day.
