Christopher experienced a rite of passage of little boys who grow up in cold climates -- getting his tongue stuck to metal. Yes, we've had the conversation about why this is not a good idea, but it apparently didn't take. He decided to try to lick the school playground fence (yuck!) when I picked him up from school. About 45 minutes straight of intense, unstoppable crying ensued. Followed by hours of complaints about pain and lessons from Christopher to everybody he met telling them to NEVER lick metal in the winter. Why oh why must little boys try this one for themselves?
