Happy 4th of July!

We had a very nice 4th of July. Strange to have it on a Wednesday. Somebody told me "it's kind of like having a Monday and Friday, then taking the day off, and then doing the Monday and Friday thing again." Very true.

We spent the morning in lazy mode after a late night out at the Crow's Nest restaurant -- a very fancy and delectable birthday dinner the night before that we enjoyed so much we didn't come home until close to midnight (yikes!). By afternoon, I had dragged Greg and the kids to the mall so that I could get a pedicure with my birthday money and then headed to the VanDoorne barbeque. Nice food, nice people, and sparklers! If you look closely in this picturee you can see that Christopher is doing those Judo moves on his sparkler. Those are still the talk of my kids! We then attempted to head to the Bucs/Pilots double header baseball game. Our earlier outing to the baseball game this summer was more fun -- FAR less crowded. We barely found a seat. And by the time we got there the kids were already starting to get tired out from a big day. Forcing them to leave before the second game had ended (we barely made it through the first inning of the second game) did not leave us as popular parents. Still fun, but maybe a bit much for a big, big day.
