Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a very restful and relaxingThanksgiving. Restful because my mother-in-law did the lions share of cooking. I'm just not used to sitting and letting others do the majority of work, but I must say that it wasn't bad. It was nice to visit with Matt, Brooke, and the cousins as well as the in-laws. We're stuffed til we can't eat anymore -- and the pie seemed to go over well. Hurray!
This photo shows the cousins in their Hopi Indian headbands. Christopher has been studying various Native American tribes in school. They all have Native American Indian names in his class, and they call each other by those names in class (Christopher is Bearpaw). They also made structurally correct teepees, and have been studying culture of various Native American tribes, and making their own Native American clothing, which Christopher brought with him to Thanksgiving dinner. He didn't want the cousins to feel left out, so he made all of them headbands reading "Member: Hopi Tribe." I'm sure that's just what the real Hopis wear. He spent a good hour on them this morning, cutting, pasting, writing...what a funny boy. Just like the pilgrims of the past we were joined in feasting by a tribe of Native Americans.
