Christopher here is taking a break from ice-skating yesterday afternoon. Dad and John were kind enough to make a trip to the rink part of their vacation. My boy LOVES to ice-skate and the 2 free passes to the ice-rink that he and Cate won from the summer reading program at the library were burning a hole in his pocket. Don't you love that missing tooth? What a great grin it gives off.

We're staying busy with guests and without guests. We had a busy weekend and are heading off to Girdwood for a bit more fishing and the mandatory trip to the Girdwood Bake Shop for the best darned soup you'll find on the planet. We'll get back in time for Christopher's soccer game tonight -- Greg is the guest coach since the regular coach is out of town at a wedding.

We kept busy last week when our guests were gone on their fishing trip, too. The kids and I spent Friday at the Soup Kitchen -- if you're in town and have time to help out, I've never seen so few volunteers and so many clients. We were very busy -- Christopher always amazes me a wonderful way when we volunteer. As we pulled out of the parking lot after a full day of helping, he said "Mom, thanks for bringing me here to volunteer. It makes me feel so good to help out others." Sigh....just when he's driving me crazy this summer he goes and says something like that!

Greg finished up an RFP that has kept him insanely busy for the past few weeks. He did a great job -- they should be very competetive. He is travelling from tomorrow a.m. through the rest of the week. Then, finally, we might get to actually do something fun together this summer.
