I'm getting back into the swing of normal life....good-bye spa appointments and hello trips to the library with two kids in tow! Actually, both are good. I'm not too upset to be back to the normal rythms of life, especially having had a chance to experience the high life for a few days. It's easy to say that on days like today where the kids and I have been in a love-fest -- no fighting, just showing the kids showing themselves at their very best. LOVE those days.
We signed up for the summer reading program, got several bags full of new books, and have spent a good portion of the day reading. Cate is never happier than with a bunch of new books, and Christopher was happy to find a few books of interest to him. It's a whole new world of summer reading program for him -- the first year where he gets credit for reading to himself rather than having a grown-up read to him.
To make the trip more festive, we packed a picnic lunch to eat on the library lawn. The wind picked up and the sun decided to hide behind some clouds so it was a short picnic...summer in Alaska. Couldn't resist adding the photo of Cate pondering what wish to make before throwing her penny into the wishing fountain. Don't you love the new hat we bought her in Denver?
