Here's the big first grader, ready to enter school on the first day! He told me "take lots of pictures and send them to grandma Vieten so she can see all the school clothes she bought me." It was great to see him enter the school with such confidence, and such excitement to see his friends from last year. Lots of hugs and high-fives.
Even in Kindergarten, there was always a good morning message on the white board welcoming kids and directing them towards their first activity of the day. In Kindergarten, there were lots of parents helping with the reading. In first grade, the message was more complicated and lengthy. It was great to see Christopher come in and read the entire message without difficulty and it just made me think about how much he's learned from one year ago.

A year changes so much in our "little" ones, doesn't it? Great picture, and I notice now that his buzz cut is growing out.
