The temperatures in Hemet rarely dipped under 100 degrees farenheit during our trip. Although we missed the "heat wave" of 115 that had been blanketing the region the week before our arrival. Praise the good Lord! Christopher dealt with the heat amazingly well, although Cate exclaimed during one walk around my parent's block "I just want to go home to Alaska and be cold!" Ah, girl -- soon enough, soon enough.
Thank goodness for my sister's pool. They built the pool during a house remodel a few year's back and it is a life saver for my eskimo kids. We managed to visit her house almost daily for an afternoon dip. Swimming in an outdoor pool is rather exciting if you grow up in Alaska where all the pools are indoor. My kids loved it. So does my sister's dog, Drake. We had to work to keep him out of the pool, where he wanted to swim and play right along with the kids. Unfortunately, his "play" can cause drowning in small children so he was barred inside most of the time the kids were swimming.
