Wow! Made it back home from our family reunion in California! We had expected to have Greg there with us for about half of the time but a back injury kept him from being able to fly and join us. Boy, it was nice to see that hubby waiting at the airport! We had a nice trip down to visit family, but would have undoubtedly had a better time if Greg had been able to join us.
First up, the family reunion itself. My sister planned it with our cousins, their spouses, their kids, and their parents. We spent a lot of time growing up with these cousins, but hadn't seen them in a very long time, and couldn't have picked their kids out of a line up. One of the wonderful things about the reunion was seeing how much my kids got along with their cousins, some of whom they didn't know even existed. They quickly bonded and spent a lot of time in the pool. It was interesting to see how amazed Christopher was to realize that there are "Vietens" his age. He knows my last name used to be Vieten, but it was a new thought to think that there are Vietens in his generation.
