Checking the Anchorage Daily News for the latest on Mt Redoubt has become an almost hourly ritual, including links to twitter feeds from the Alaska Volcano Observatory on every small eruption or tremor. The volcano is doing its thing often. Last night it had 4 eruptions in an 8 hour period. Greg was scheduled for an early morning flight to DC this a.m. and was sure his flight would be cancelled, but somehow he managed to get out. Now we'll just wait to see if he's able to get back later this week. He has too many memories of the last time Redoubt showed its stuff. He was working for Alaska Airlines back then and got stuck in Seattle for 2 weeks. Of course, he was flying standby, but he was helping with reservations for paying customers and many of them had 7-9 day waits. Praying all will go well with all travellers.

So far there has been no noticeable ash in Anchorage. We've had a fairly consistent spring snow over the past 36 hours, though, so it's hard to tell if there's any ash mixed in with the snow. No respiratory problems, yet, though. I'm just praying asthma boy here will have no issues.
