Late morning we gathered at Cate's preschool for her holiday program and party. The children sang 6 or 7 songs and then were greeted by Santa Claus. Last year, Cate sat up in the front of the crowd and looked like a deer in the headlights during the singing portion. This year, she happily sang along, mostly swaying and singing. How much difference a year makes!
I couldn't get Cate to look up from staring at Santa's beard. I think she was a little overwhelmed by his presence, but she agreed to go sit on his lap when she realized he had small presents for all the children.
We got through our first major party at the house -- a good bye for one of Greg's employees who is moving to Florida. What a relief to have it go off without a hitch. Smart girl moving to Florida. Today it is 1 degree and snowing. Usually when it snows it gets warmer (cloud cover) so when it's 1 degree and snowing you know it has been frigid. Is it too much to want to just lay on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea for the next few days?
